For my first semester at Oberlin College, I was obsessed with the Campus Dining Service (or “CDS”, as the kids called it). For the first time in my life, I could eat anything I wanted. Faced with this plethora of choices, however, I usually ended up eating burgers.

I’ve never been a big breakfast guy. In fact, I’ll go so far as to say fuck breakfast. So I always got pissed whenever the breakfast bar intruded on another meal. Here I let Toupy voice my displeasure in a public forum. This would become a trend throughout the strip.

This strip marks the first appearance of Teetereater. His hair wasn’t quite as angular as it is now. Which makes him look a little more human. And he’s not smoking. But that’s probably because you couldn’t smoke in the dining halls.
