Commentary by Kevin McShane

O.K. Confession time. I have a huge crush on Claire Danes. I think it has something to do with actresses in coming-of-age television series, because both Claire Danes and Linda Cardellini (from Freaks and Geeks) make my little heart go pitter-patter. Danica McKellar (Winne Cooper from The Wonder Years) never really did it for me though. I wonder why.

Anyway.

My entire freshman year, rumors swirled aorund campus that Claire Danes had applied to and been accepted by Oberlin. Her older brother had just graduated, and her best friend was supposedly in my class.

By the beginning of my sophomore year, however, it was revealed (by some teen magazine, no doubt) that Claire would not be attending my alma mater, but rather Yale. And Yale, as everyone knows, is a school for dickheads. Yeah, I said it.

Despite Ms. Danes’ terrible decision, my unrequited love remained, prompting this strip, as well as my enrollment in a My So Called Life class my junior year. For credit.

God, I love liberal arts schools.
