LOS ANGELES - Today, independent comic book publisher Lobrau Productions Inc. announced "Toupydoops Live" - a one-of-a-kind staged reading of the new, critically-acclaimed comic book series from writer/artist Kevin McShane. The show will take place Friday March 17th 2006 @ 8pm at Los Angeles' famous I.O. West comedy theatre.
Toupydoops Live! combines McShane's artwork with sound effects, music and live voice actors to bring the first issue of Toupydoops to life for a live audience. The show's cast includes such seasoned improvisers as Opus Moreschi (The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn), Dave Hill (Crime Scenes), Chris Tallman (Chris Tallman's Batman), Toby Wilson (Boys and Girls Guide to Getting Down), Jill Alexander (Las Vegas), and Rory Ledbetter (The Sky Is Falling).
"As a performer at I.O. West myself, I'm really looking forward to working with my uber-talented peers to bring my book to life," said Toupydoops creator Kevin McShane.
"I also look forward to welcoming my fellow artists and comic fans in town for WizardWorld LA that weekend," McShane stated. "I realize there's not much to do in LA after dark on a Friday night, so hopefully this show will help stem people's boredom until the Con opens up again Saturday morning."
